Shore Leave!

Jun 11, 2010 20:58

Suddenly, the usual relative peace of the ship is disrupted by a rather loud announcement from Stacy.

Everyone shuffles into the Obs Deck, curious as to what exactly is going on.

Shadow, the fastest on the ship, was one of the first to arrive... and a little annoyed.

"Oh, joy. Another mission. Who do we save this time - the spirit of FLAG DAY?" he griped as he marched in. As he began reading the mission plans, his eyes went wide.

"Wait a second... 'shore leave?'"

"... shore leave? HOO-RAH!" exclaimed Ben next to Shadow. "... oh man I need to make a shopping list!"

Hikari blinked. "We're... getting off the ship?" she asked, Tailmon held in her arms.

Tailmon grinned. "Finally, real food!"

Briefing cityship June 12 2010, 01:10:35 UTC
Suddenly, Stacy's image pops up next to the dossier.

||Thank you for coming, everyone.||

||I know you all are anxious as to why I've called you here. Due to recent events, including the incident with the creature from the area known as "escherville", I have decided that some shore leave is in order, and since we've just reached a resort-planet supervised by the Greater Dimensional Alliance, I believed that now was an appropriate time for it.||

||I know it won't entirely make up for all the things many of you have been through lately, but I hope it helps.||

||I've taken the liberty of stowing some civilian transportation vehicles into the Obs-Deck pod, so that you may travel and transport goods that you may purchase. You have each also been granted an amount of funds appropriate for your shore leave. I suggest spending it wisely.||

||Any questions?||

Daimon folded his arms over his chest. "And what," he began sternly. "If we choose not to go?" Aw, he actually thought he had a choice.

BAAAW YOU DON'T LIKE HER PRESENT, DAIMON? YOU SO MEAN.

"I intend to." He is immune to your guilt tripping, Stacy! You'll just have to step it up a notch.

Detachment Procedures cityship June 12 2010, 01:14:31 UTC
Stacy's voice intones:

||Initiating Detachment procedures.||

There was a tremendous shudder and the artificial gravity cut out. It felt as if the entire Obs Deck was drifting.

That was because that's exactly what it was doing. As it slowly rotated through space they could most likely see the rest of the ship through the windows, and long umbilical cord that connected Obs Deck to it.

At first, it seemed like there was a sheer wall there, but as Obs Deck pulled away, they could see that it was in fact the ship.

And it was huge.

A long, shriveled thing, it was like a diseased organ, made of what looked like mottled, wrinkled flesh, gray in some places, green-gray in others, and black most of all. Bulbous pods, glowing faintly in the void, were clustered along the surface of it, like eggshells illuminated from the inside.

Still, its eerie appearance was dwarfed by the sheer size of it. It was bigger than a city--to those that had traveled through space already, it was easy to see that it was bigger than the average-sized moon.

"That's Stacy?" Kira's voice is soft, genuinely stunned. He's never seen anything that size before that wasn't Earth or the Moon. "She's huge..."

Ben couldn't help it. He really couldn't.

So he did it.

"That's no moon. That's a SPACE STATION!"

Feel free to groan and Star Wars people glare at him.

"Not bad," Tenaya remarked, smirking as she came over.

She had to admit that it was an impressive sight nonetheless. For her first spaceship, it definitely didn't disappoint.
