Goliath spots Renne before he arrives, and watches the little creature work for a moment before calling out to him.

So much of the Nightmare King's efforts to destroy him involved acting on his sorrow at being without clan. In that light, Renne's unbidden attempts to fix the castle - such a tiny creature, chipping away at such great damage - are touching. A very specific reminder that he is not as alone as he has felt since waking up on the ship.

The Nightmare King's power ran deep, indeed, for him not to have acknowledged this sooner.

He takes to the air, lands, and hefts a block of stone perhaps a hundred times heavier than the little creature holding pebbles beside it.

"We have much work to do, my friend, if we are to repair our home. Castle and ship both."

"All my race are strong."

Him, even more than most, but he's not the type to brag about genetics.

"A friend has come to my aid. Why would I be angry?"

Jamie's seen the map of the damage in the city, but wanted to take a closer look. After spending a good few hours surveying the area, he's actually on his way out. Noticing the 'sunset', he decides to go slightly out of his way to see if Goliath is awake. When he gets close enough, he calls out, "Goliath? Are ye home?"

He's about to glance up to check the gargoyle's usual perch, when he notices that the castle did not escape the battle intact. He frowns and moves forward, picking his way over the rubble to take a closer look. The faint noise of the stone skin hitting the rubble finally draws his attention back upward.

"Och, there ye are. Did ye want some help?"

"I would indeed."

There's not a lot of wind to glide, so Goliath spirals down in what is more a controlled fall. After his rest, he looks - and is - none the worse for wear.

"Have you slept, my friend?"

"Aye." There were no dreams. It was wonderful. "And Katara fixed up my leg, so it's much better." Jamie flexes it - it's still a little stiff, but considering what shape it was in before? He's pretty pleased about that, and that Goliath seems to be in good shape as well. "Ye look like ye made it through without a scratch. I'm glad to see that."

He reaches down and picks up one of the pieces from the rubble, turning it over thoughtfully. "I think some of this will still be useful for repairs." Glancing back at Goliath, he offers, "Do ye want me to start by sorting through that, or did ye have something else in mind?"

"My kind heal in our sleep." And right now he's especially glad of it. "And I am glad to see you made it through as well.

He surveys the damage, breathing in deeply as he thinks. He's helped repair this castle before, but never to this extent. "Sorting through, yes, that will be the first step. There are pieces that can be mortared back into place, but they need to be separated by size."

There are chunks of the wall still intact - he begins to lift one, and it cracks in half. Fortunately, he jerks his foot out of the way just in time for it not to be smashed by the rubble.

". . . carefully, of course."
