Heroes Assemble [Open to all Marvel Universe Pups]

Carol really didn't know what she was doing as she made the post to the com. Sure she had been sick and tired of all of them dancing around each other, grouping off, being just people rather than heroes from the same world. She'd noticed the other heroes forming a team, they got on so well it made her sick to think about her own world ( Read more... )

Who'd have thought that Gambit, of all people, would be the first one to arrive. Mr. Stay-Up Late and Roll-In in the Middle of the Night was the first one to the meeting. Was he feeling the need to feel part of a group again? Or was it just because the woman who had sent him the message was gorgeous?

"You called, mon cher?" he said, announcing his presence as he stepped into the senorium.

Carol's head had been hung as she waited. She really wasn't expecting anyone to show up, so it was a bit of a shock when she heard the voice. Her head moved up slowly as she blinked her eyes at the man standing there. Out of all the people on board, she had doubted that Gambit would be one of the ones who'd come to this meeting. Then again, from the way he acted, it was like he'd never met Carol before. Which suited her just fine. She didn't need to deal with Rogue's lover.

"Thank you for coming. I was hoping more people would be here by now. But I guess I was holding by breath for nothing."

"No, not for nothin," Remy replied with a grin as he moved over to an empty bench and sat down, draping his arms across the back of it. "You can hold your breath for Gambit anytime."

Carol blinked at the man. She really wasn't going to go there. Really. No. One, the man was dating Rogue. Two, she was dating Peter. Three, he was a former villain and she didn't date villains. But damn if he wasn't attractive.

She turned her eyes away, focusing on the statue of Janet van Dyne.

Jonas drifted in through the doors -- literally through, Stacy did not have the Sensoriums shielded from his phasing. He nodded in greeting to Carol and drifted over to sit on the base of Scott Lang's memorial statue. He looked around the Avengers' portion of the garden, frowning a little to himself. Moments later, a statue of his predecessor coalesced from nothing.

Somewhat more contented, Jonas idly drummed his fingers against the lip of the pedestal and waited for the meeting to start.

After talking with her teammates, Kate walked in. Her eyes lingered on some of the statues in the Avenger garden area. She hadn't ever seen the ones from Xavier's school so it was surprising to see it here. Still she could understand why with how some of the X-men reacted to them.

"I don't see why we all have to train together." Cassie grumbled, walking up to Kate.

Kate looked over at her, "We have to figure out something. These nightmares are getting worse and we have to pull together somehow."

Oh, roight. Like 'at ain't creepy at all. Jono had come along because...well, it was the right thing to do. And it wasn't like he didn't need to get out and about more.

And if his eyes lingered a bit on two statues in the X-Men section of the garden? Well, he could be forgiven that, he thought.

There was a nervous teenager glancing her way who commented, "A lot of us are from later, and I guess she didn't know when some were coming in from. You're really from a lot earlier aren't you?"

"Much earlier. And if it's all the same to you Wanda, this place means more than just some dead heroes. It's to remember their heroic acts, not their deaths." She moved to stand by the statue of Captain America, her eyes locked onto the Young Avenger.

"You're Hawkeye right? I haven't gotten to talk to your team yet, but I am glad you came."

Kate could agree on that sentiment as her blue eyes briefly lingered at Captain America's statue as well before focusing on Ms. Marvel.

"I am, and thanks for the invite. Would have saved some trouble early on if we got one of these when we first started. But it's good now."
