The thing you should know is that everyone is in really big trouble. Yeah. Even you.

Ax had escaped the Controllers on board. Brainy had not been so lucky. Neither had Sam and Tim. And who knew how many others on board had Yeerks wrapped around their brains, controlling their every movement, pretending that everything was normal until the time came to strike.

Who do you trust, podlings?

For a short, skinny bastard, Jono could take up a lot of space when he felt like it. Currently he was in the media library, slouched down in one chair with his feet up in another. The media player was on a table at arm's length from him with the earphone line stretched out in between.

It was the only thing keeping him on an even footing at the moment.

After being flown the med-bay by Nathan only to find out that Leela had disappeared, Lyta had taken to searching the ship. After what the young girl had just been through, Lyta wanted to be certain she was all right and to find out what--if anything--the girl remembered.

But, thus far, she'd had no luck.

Stepping into the media center, still determined to find Leela, Lyta noticed Jono--the other telepath--reclining at one of the stations with a set of earphones on.

Hi, she said telepathically. Have you seen Leela?

A tall man who has been hunched over at various consoles throughout most of the morning suddenly makes a face like somebody who has an itch in a place that can't be scratched. He shakes his head and glances up from the immobile console he's sitting at, another mobile viewing pad still in his right hand.

"My Allen-sense is tingling." Shut up, he's a dork. "Telepaths?"

Jono starts. Which is a new and odd sensation because nobody's sneaked up on him for years. However, Stacy gives him such a bad headache normally that he's shielded as tightly as he can get.

He reaches out for the media player, shutting it off and pulling the headphones off while he's shaking his head. Nah. Ain't seen 'er in a bit. He makes a motion toward the player. Might not've noticed anyway if she came through 'ere.

He glances toward the tall guy, blinking. Aye. Which...okay, that's kind of social for Jono, actually.

Shawn figured there might be a chance that there might be a clue hidden within the ship as to what the podmates were doing here, and he had decided to start with the city.

At the present moment, he was searching in the Vatican for anything someone else might've missed.

Leela is here, in a place that felt...somewhat holy. She likely needs to be here right now, after what she went through.

She's crying a little, and when she hears and sees Shawn approaching, she mutters, "Damn," and quickly starts wiping her eyes.

In the mess hall, Pat and Toxin were poking at their daily helping of glop-with Toxin being more enthusiastic about it, slithering out to lap at the 'food'.

"You're going to choke if you keep eating that fast."

It's goo. How can you choke on goo? It'd be pretty hard to get stuck, wouldn't it?

"Don't go trying to prove me wrong, okay?"

Yeah, yeah...

Pat just shook his head, then looked around the rest of the mess hall. There had to be something less alarming to watch than Toxin's eating habits...

Penelope has also picked up a goo-tray as well.

She keeps sending glances Pat's way. And Toxin's, though her gaze, once she gets over the mild shock, goes to Pat more and more. She's wary of offering her services as a therapist just yet.

Possibly she could actually talk to somebody.

"Hello," she greets, standing nearby with her tray.

Pat turns as he's spoken to, giving her a nod. "Hi. You're one of the newer people, right?"

Toxin gulps down some more glop before snaking his tongue out to lick the rest away from his jaws, then moves to sniff in Penelope's direct.

He's keeping an eye on that goo-tray of hers, though. The symbiote knows all too well people sometimes freak out about him, and he'd rather not get winged with it.

"I am. Penelope Maddox, therapist."

The Mask covers all senses - Penelope smells human, and a rather tired one at that.

"At the meeting I was somewhat preoccupied." Which is code for 'freaking out'. "If you gave it, I didn't catch your name."

It's after a moment that she remembers to organize her face into a suitably expectant expression. Social cues are so much easier when she actually gets sleep.

Nathan didn't know what happened to Leela either. She seemed fine in the Medical Bay, but now she was gone. After he had dropped Lyta off, he flew off in another direction, his route taking him to another part of the city.

He passes by another figure as he goes, a leather-clad figure who turns to look at him curiously.

Nathan came around and stepped down for an easy landing. Likewise eyeing the figure curiously back.

"You haven't seen Leela running around, have you?"

He looks around. "I'm afraid not..."

"No idea," Tim says, coming up behind Kon. He has a small, lead box hidden in his palm, and for now, he just holds it, feeling the metal warm against his skin. "You don't think it's the original, do you?"

"I think whoever built this flying slab of space-meat just knows how to fake stuff really well." Mia shrugs, wandering along with them.

"Possibly. Or they did actually steal it. Who knows?" Danny says, inspecting his own statue.
