Marco found the city to be an odd place. Well, everything on this ship was odd. But the hodge-podge nature of the city had it's own special brand of weirdness. It reminded him of the Nartec City, with their collection of ships and technology from various periods in history. Which was really unnerving, since the Nartec had also stuffed and preserved

Tobias saw Marco come in.

< Hey. What's going on? And I really hope it's not another battle, I'm still beat from that last one. > Seeing Marco looking at the tree, he said < it's an Andalite tree. I think Ax talked about them at some point, how they can actually talk or something like that in a way. It's still strange to me. >

"Sorry Tobias, but yes. There's a battle. Because you know, I always just stroll in casually to tell you about imminent danger. And morphing osprey so I could get here faster would just take away all the fun."

Marco walked up to the tree and stared at it. "Andalite tree, huh?" So that's why the tree was familiar - it looked like a lot of the plants he'd seen in the dome ship. He sent Tobias an incredulous look about the 'talking' part, though. "A talking tree? You sure Ax wasn't just messing with that bird-brain of yours?"

< Sorry, I'm just stressed. Good point though > Tobias replied. He should have seen the snark coming; he knew he was tired.

< It's not actually a word...more like a mind thing. I felt whatever message it was sending when I touched it. I don't understand well but the feeling is there. >

Of course you should have seen it coming, Tobias. With Marco, snark is always coming.

"What, the tree just wants to talk you about your feelings? Man, it's a shame Cassie's not here. She'd practically want to marry it." But despite the jokes, Marco still leaned forward and tentatively touched the tree.

"Woah. That is weird," he said, pulling away.
