Grounding and Centering

Katara had her time to laugh and her time to cry after finding out about her world. She'd had fun with her Outsider friends, she'd broke down in front of a person she would rather have not done that with and she was still adjusting to recent events. Throughout all that had happened, there was still the silver lining: Toph was here, and now there ( Read more... )

The last time he was here, Zuko really hadn't had a chance to enjoy the environment. He had been too busy trying to pummel Katara into unconsciousness and steal her best friend.

So he steps in, feeling a little self-conscious as he recognizes the environment. But he needs a place to meditate, too, so he sits down across from Katara wordlessly and begins breathing, his eyes closed.

Zuko has a small pack on his back in addition to his swords. He slings it off and opens it up, pulling out datapads and Aang's bison whistle.

"These are all the things I've found. Tell me everything you know."

Katara took the whistle with trembling hands, then took the datapad. She hadn't read these findings before, and doing that now caused her to tear up without really knowing it. So they HAD done things to him....Aang hadn't elaborated, probably to spare her, but she knew now. still, she wasn;t going to go weepy now, not when there was so much at stake. She gave the datapad back to Zuko, sighing.

"In the first dream, I had to chase him. I only recently remembered that dream because I was supposed to forget it, but after that time in jail, Aang wsa the only thing that kept me happy, so I would always think of him. After that I remembered it, and why I had forgotten the dream in the first place. Whatever Aang is doing now, its to make the ship safer. That thing he's protecting us from wants to beat Aang, and he can do that if he knows Aang;s weaaknesses. I don't know enough about the thing he's fighting...but Roxie might. She might even know what they were doing to him before."

"I'll ask her." It's about time he talked to Roxie anyway. She's creepy, but he knows enough about her to know she's more than competent regarding a lot of the things that happen on the ship.

He looks at his feet again, still shamefaced for his earlier foot-in-mouth. ". . . I really didn't mean it when I said . . . what I did. I wasn't thinking."

"You should," Katara said. "She's pretty thorough, and no one is more committed than her."

Katara shook her head. "Look, forget about it. I know you've made mistakes before Zuko. It took a lot for you to get where you are now. Just, be more careful when you say something like that, all right?"
