She fiddled with the comm console. It remained nonoperational regardless of all her efforts. It added to her stress. She tried to keep calm, she really did, but thing were not going as planned.
She fidgeted, she paced, she muttered proverbs to herself. None of it really helped, and unknown to Mei Ling, things for her were about to get a lot worse.
She spotted the new arrivals out of the corner of her eye. She whipped around to face them. She screamed.
Things were bad.

"What the heck are those things? Aren't normal organics disgusting enough?!" His lance and shield were at the ready.

"[What are-- zombies?!]"
He flew over to put himself between Mei Ling and the encroaching arrivals. She was probably the one they were after, unless these zombies had a taste for electronics, and he was still technically a suit of armor.
