This OVA picks up after the Record / Rekord arc where they were in the country with many libraries. (Yes, even though the second season went past the Record arc hahaha.) This whole OVA animates the Tokyo arc in the manga. Maybe I just have an attachment to this arc because there are tons of X TV characters and I really loved X TV as a series and their characters. And did I already mention I am loving the opening a bit too much?

We finally know the secret behind Syaoran's past. Despite Sakura having all her memories of Syaoran erased since their childhood meeting, she has once again realized that he is her most important person. All that Syaoran has done for her, even if she could never remember their relationship... now it is her turn... to do what she can do so that she can bring back the original Syaoran...

I would call this arc, the arc that changes the whole story onto another track. It is past this arc that you really get into the deeper parts of this series. But seriously, I started watching the anime first then gone back to the manga. I got sucked in from the Hanshin Republic arc (with all the kudans! XD). I lke how CCS's main character was mostly Sakura and now Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle stars more of Syaoran. So whoever thinks this is a boring series, you have to watch till at least past ep 2 for season 1!!! I was a victim hahaha because I stopped at the beginning of ep 2 and I just put it on a shelf after because I thought it was boring, till my friend told me more about it. Then I got it out again. =P

I'm so glad I watched the first two ova eps consecutively and just had to wait for the last one. It was a hard wait, even if I read the equivalent part in the manga already. It was truly beautiful. Each scene was almost straight from the manga. Their words too! XD

I have to say I'm glad I didn't abandon this series. It sounded so stupid when I heard about it and read summaries about it, but it ended up having such a deep heartening story. Coupled with Kajiura Yuki's amazing music, this series is truly one of my favourites (only as a combination, anime+manga+music+characters+art+story). The anime definitely is lacking in terms of the art (it's good enough though!) but seeing the action animated was just so *sniff sniff* wonderful. I always clinged to liking just Card Captor Sakura and nothing can be as good as it, but this is just as good, truly. Especially if you love Syaoran & Sakura. =D

Now that the OVA is over, I'm even a little sad. Hopefully they can animate all the other arcs as OVAs too sometime. (I can almost see them animating the arc about Fai's past...) With no anime to look forward to once again, I go back to my dramas... At least I can look forward to the next manga chapter!!! I just read ch 184. It's getting so good! <3

P.S. Grace I can so see you loving this story (Tsubasa Chronicle) lol
I have to write it here someday.... XD

Syaoran was a quiet, cold boy. Not even his kind adoptive father could get too close to him. But when Sakura first met him, she gave him that warm smile. Despite her being a princess and him just an lowly archeologist's adopted son, she always loved to see him and played with him as a child. As they grew up, Syaoran's adoptive father died and he became an archeologist too after the footsteps of his late father. He's become much more happier and open, because of Sakura's influence. His job now is to continue researching the ruins in their country, Clow Country.

She always snuck out of the castle to see him. He wasn't back often because of his archeology trips. On that one fateful day, when she was about to tell Syaoran she loved him... she didn't because she was late in heading back to the palace. She departed with the words. "I'll say the words I want to say tomorrow for sure, just wait." But sadly, that night was the night Fei Wong Reed carried out his evil plans. Sakura possessed a mysterious power that not even the priests know about, but Yukito said it is a power that will change the world. She resonated with the ruins that night and teleported there. Syaoran was there too, doing some late night research. He was happy to see her, but she was mesmerized and activated the ruins. Wings appeared out of her back and she was fading out of this world. In desperation, Syaoran caught her in time to prevent her fading away. However, the feathers from her wings scattered and flew away and Sakura became unconscious. The ruins were being overrun by Fei Wong Reed's underlings and Syaoran ran out to meet the King (Sakura's older brother, Touya) who entrusted her to him even though he never liked Syaoran. Yukito sent them to the Dimensional witch, Yuuko. And there, their journey begins... Yuuko said the only way to save Sakura was to retrieve the feathers which contained all her memories from her birth till the present. Syaoran agreed. But to travel to different worlds to find the feathers, he had to pay a price. The witch said it has to be the most important thing he treasured, which was Syaoran's relationship with Sakura.

She bitterly told him that even if he found all the feathers so her memories returned, the memories of him and her will never return. Even so, Syaoran agreed... saying Sakura is the most important person to him. He will go on this journey to save her.

Throughout the journey, Sakura is puzzled why Syaoran would go through such dangers to retrieve her feathers but he never told her anything. And one time, she came so close to figuring out their relationship, but she instantly had her memory erased. He knew it was futile for her to remember so that is why he never told her anything. But a new relationship started to develop. Even without their past memories, Sakura and Syaoran now have new memories. And, she eventually thinks Syaoran is still her most important person.

After travelling to many different worlds, the two's relationship deepens with each situation, the truth behind Syaoran's past is known at Tokyo. She realizes that Syaoran is indeed her most important person, but  Syaoran would never know because it is here that he lost his heart and have gone back to his original state.

After this is kind of spoilerish but I hope I got you into the story from here lol...
The story of love is so strong in its message that it reminds me of Jesus love for us. It is just like that, pure and sacrificial. And I love Kurogane and Tomoyo too! They are so cute hahaha. ^ ^
