It's been an awesome break... Went skiing on Mon. Feb. 19, hot Pot at Shirl's house on Thu. Feb. 22, and the most awesome of all... watched Phantom of the Opera on Sat. Feb. 24!!! I'm like obsessed with the music now it's kind of sad. ^_^'
------
Probably no one gets what I'm talking about so you can skip all of this part hahaha... Again for my own reference so don't mind all this stuff. =P There's a funny part in the end if you're interested...
AR TONELICO
I played a lot of Ar Tonelico during the break but still not enough... sigh... only got to the end of Phase 1 for the Aurica route, still have to do the end of Phase 1 for Misha's route. Then after a bit of research, I found out I missed some Talk Topics... eeek... Not bad at all though, I think I missed only one for Aurica and one for Misha. There's no way I can get back to the Lower World at the moment. I wonder if I can still get those back.
Other than that, I'm loving Ar Tonelico so far! Though the battle is tedious since I need a constant supply of grade B grathnode crystals for grathmelding. -_- It's going to be quite a looooong game since there are 7 endings, 3 endings each for Aurica and Misha and one bad ending I believe... The story already branched at the end of Phase 1. So, I basically have to play twice starting near the end of Phase 1 just to get the whole story. I'm hoping the Phase 2 for Misha and Aurica are different enough so it'll seem like I'm not playing the game twice.
I just want more time to play it. Arghhh... It's interesting how they make you do this though hahaha... I mean if you compare this with Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger with their tons of endings, I can achieve the 7 different endings much easier because this game compels you to, because you won't know anything about either of the girls if you don't play their part of the story. So good job Gust for making this game!! ^o^
But what I'm most happy about is finding out what vocals are actually used in Ar Tonelico. The Japanese and English official sites said there will be 12 vocal songs including the Opening and Ending. From all the CDs combined, I found the 12 that I think would be on. Though I'm soooooo glad [York of Love.] made it in the game! I found a video clip with that song listed in the list of songs for one of the many endings' credits. So it has to be used!! I can't wait to see when it's used. =) It's a wonderful song.
So I think this should be the list:
01. [Utau Oka -Harmonics EOLIA-] -- Opening Song
02. [Song of the Gentle Breeze] -- Claire's Song
03. [EXEC_PAJA/.#Orica extracting.] -- Aurica's Song
04. [EXEC_PAJA/.#Misya extracting] -- Misha's Song
05. [EXEC_CHRONICLE_KEY/.] -- Misha's Song
06. [EXEC_LINCA/.] -- Aurica's Song
07. [York of Love.] -- Claire's Song
08. [EXEC_PHANTASMAGORIA/.] -- One of the Ending Songs
09. [EXEC_SUSPEND/.] -- One of the Ending Songs
10. [EXEC_RE=NATION/.] -- (Shimotsuki Haruka)
11. [EXEC_RIG=VEDA/.] -- (Mitose Noriko)
12. [EXEC_HARMONIUS/.] -- (Shikata Akiko)
Other than the 12 vocals, the soundtrack also has vocal songs. Though, they mostly only have vocal choruses. The full vocal song that is not an OP/ED is Voice of Tsugaumei AE which is awesome since it's used in many of the Ar Tonelico trailers.
Here are the tracks with some vocals lines:
[2.27 The Voice of Recurring Destiny AE] // [2.37 The Voice of Recurring Destiny]
[1.16 Brave Beat] // [2.03 Prayer] // [2.17 Whisper]
[1.29 Psyco Dive]
[1.14 Scar] // [2.21 Hell - Orika Castle]
[1.31 What My World is Wishing for] // [2.28 Lost Performance - Paradox]
The unique thing is, there's someone rapping in some of the battle themes. It's weird, but it's still acceptable. What's weirder is the rapping is in English so it's kind of awkward somehow for this game's nature hahaha...
[1.06 Fenrir]
[2.23 Sleipnir]
[1.03 Audhumla]

Yup, Ar Tonelico has awesome music. =) And what's the most coolest part, is most of the Hymns (beginning with 'EXEC') are sung in hymnos, which is a language created for Ar Tonelico, along with Japanese. XD
Hard to get people interested through a journal, but if you are a lover of instrumentals, you have to listen to some Ar Tonelico songs. They are very choir like songs, especially [Phantasmagoria].

Just for the heck of it, I will put some of the dialogue that I've been laughing about for a long time last week while playing Ar Tonelico. If you've played Atelier Iris, you'll notice a lot of the humor in the script come from synthesis when the store owner or your party members name items you just created. This humor returns in Grathmelding (Ar Tonelico synthesis). You'll see Aurica's unique naming sense in the following several dialogue for grathmelding:
Lyner: It’s done! I’ll call it [Peeka]
Aurica: Hey, a bug repellent... And it’s shaped like a pig.
Lyner: Actually, this is a Peeka, an item that keeps the enemies away.
Aurica: Oh, I see. So it’s an enemy repellent?
Lyner: Uh...W, well I can’t say you’re wrong...
**********************************************
Lyner: It’s done! I’ll call it [Quicklezz]
Lyner: Yes, it’s complete! Its name is...
Aurica: Snail.
Lyner: ...Wha?
Aruica: It’ll make you go slower, so 'Snail'. It’s easier to know what it is than Quicklezz, and it’s much shorter too.
Lyner: Just because it’s shorter doesn’t mean it’s better...
**********************************************
Lyner: It’s done! I’ll call it [Guardlezz]
Lyner: Yes, the Guardlezz is complete! Now this will make battle so much easier.
Aurica: It sounds a little tasty.
Lyner: I’ll say this just in case, but don’t try it.
Aurica: But with that name, and this color, you can’t help but think you can eat it. So that we won’t eat it by mistake... How about name it 'Harmeregno'?
Lyner: What part of that is 'so that we don’t eat it by mistake' !?
**********************************************
Lyner: It’s done! I’ll call it [Hitlezz]
Lyner: There, the Hitlezz is complete!
Aurica: ...That’s a strange medicine. Do we drink this?
Lyner: It’s a tool we pour on the enemy. Their accuracy goes down and their attacks won’t hit us as much.
Aurica: Oh, that’s great... But that name is too straightforward and sounds stupid. Since the enemy’s attacks miss us, let’s name it 'Misserchi'. That’s pretty good for something I just made up.
Lyner: W, what language is that...
**********************************************
NOTE: Sonic Gear is a grathmelded saw weapon for Krusche
Lyner: It’s done! I’ll call it [Sonic Gear]
Lyner: I know I made it and all, but this is so atrocious.
Aurica: It is... A gear churns at the speed of sound and cuts things up. That’s scary. Or like, isn’t the gear a little too big?
Lyner: Well, don’t you think it’s stronger and better this way? But yeah, it really is atrocious. Would it be better if I made it look a little softer?
Aurica: How about 'Twirly Slashy'?
Lyner: That’s a cute name, but there’d be a huge gap when you actually use it...
