I find myself amused, entertained, saddened in some cases, energised and awed by what people have posted on Twitter. And no-one I follow has ever posted that they were clipping their nails, which is another favourite cliché of the anti-Twitter people.
It helps me see travel problems, and get up to the minute info on that. I've gotten to tslk to chefs that I admire, writers whose books I adore and it has made it possible for me to send a present to a comedian because he deserved one because his wife is on Twitter and DMd me their address.
It isn't for all, but it definitely is not useless.
