Going to my current dentist is like taking a trip into a really bad TV show. The music usually consists of early Beetle's greatest hits albums and is played at ear splitting volume. The dentist himself is from some random country, and all of the slightly attractive yet creepy assistants are from other random countries. When I say creepy I mean ( Read more... )

I love my new dentist. I have hated every dentist I have gone to...except this guy. He's great. I can't find the spelling of his name right now but will get back to you on it tomorrow.

i am deeply afraid of the dentist; it is one of the few phobias i have retained into my adult years, thanks to the rough handling of some bad bad dentists in my childhood and teen years. i am bad about going to the dentist now, and avoid it as much as possible.

that said, i love my dentist. nice korean lady in fremont, small hands. her hygienists are really nice and hold my hand and pet my hair when i go in. i don't think she has video goggles but very much with the friendly and no suggestions for elective surgery. i think it's adult contemporary on the radio, but i don't really remember since it was indeed fairly low volume. i referred a co-worker to her for new front tooth caps and she LOVED dr. park and raved about how she didn't try to talk her into a root canal that wasn't necessary.

Seconded! And they do have video goggles, if you ask. The movie selection isn't all that great, but I bet if you bought in a DVD they'd let you play it.

Done.

Thank jehovah, the nightmare is over. The difference in tone betwixt the two offices was startling. Lisa's was super friendly and excited. My old dentist sounded like the russian agent in that old James Bond film, ready to kick me in the shin with a poison spike.
