have I told you just how much I enjoy your YA reviews? I really do -- and I have picked up some fantastic fiction (and even authors' whole sets of work) because of your posts.
I'm going to give this CC book a turn for the long weekend!
Without giving away too much, here's what I'd say: It depends on whether the love triangle was the main thing you didn't enjoy about MI -- if you liked the writing, pacing, mystery, humor, world-building, etc., CA is similar in those respects (though it's steampunk, it feels fairly modern). But like MI, CA prominently features a love triangle; if you don't like love triangles, CA probably isn't for you. If on the other hand you like love triangles and just didn't like the Valentine twist or Clary/Jace, I personally liked Tessa (the protagonist) more, and the main obstacle in the love triangle didn't seem quite as astonishing to me as, "What now! We're siblings?!" I enjoyed the book immensely, but then again, I thought MI was a fun read as well.
