walking

I did a "shorter walk" on Monday plus a run over to J and B's. about 2 miles
Tues: 2 miles standard walk.

Stats from the start 10/26/09

Total bike 12.4 miles
Total walk 4 miles

I used J's GBS for the walk, thinking about getting a pedometer or a walking GPS. Not sure, don't want to spend anything but like the tracking ideas. hm.....

I like gmap pedometer, and it lets me save whatever routes.

I have used that as well, though not recently. For my "regular walk" that would be perfect. I guess I am trying to get more general moving in and a pedometer would track that with out me needing to think about it. The GPS is great in a pocket because it keeps track of distance but you can't take it in a car.

The thing I don't like about pedometers is that I have to program in what my stride length is, and it calculates from that. My stride varies, with a a lot of variables. And it just plain annoys me that the instruction manual I got with one suggested that I should walk always with a uniform stride. For me, I'd rather check how far I walked online afterward, and not get frustrated by this. GPS I have no experience with.
