So I finally received my PS2 Flip Top Cover after what seems like forever. Apparently the manufacturer fucked up and so the model I ordered wasn't available, so they "upgraded" my order. I got a Black cover (which is what I really wanted in the first place, but they only had the Transparent Blue combo when I ordered) and they gave me Ultimate Swap ( Read more... )

Unfortunately, you'll have to get used to the Circle and X thing. That's apparently a standard convention in Japanese games and even other parts of life. (On homework and exams in school, a circle is used where we would use a checkmark to indicate a correct answer.) I played the Japanese version of We Love Katamari and had much the same trouble you mentioned.

Well, I know you can change the controls, but I'm so afraid to do it since I can't read the screen to see what things are reassigned as. I guess I'll have to spend a few hours writing all the Japanese down, then translating it. UGH. Where's a fluent reader/speaker when you need one?!

It occurred to me a couple of days ago that this means you might be able to play the Japanese DDR games! ;)

I'm pretty sure it's any non-USA-region (whatever that number is) game. I'd like to see how the Japanese DDR versions are. You wouldn't by chance know anyone who has one so I can try it?

I think some of the crew that used to hang out in the BGSU arcade had them, but that's wont help you much.

It's possible that Bryce has some of them. I'll ask the next time I talk to him.
