Friday Five

Jan 26, 2012 23:29

Although my Austin, Texas Tour de Nerdfighting adventure belongs to last week, I couldn't resist the impulse to include it on this Friday Five. I mean, a little bit of nostalgia never hurt anyone. There were 1,100 people at the signing.

Hank sang some songs.

1,100 people at the signing?! Wow. Sounds like you had fun!

Also, go you for adding 2K to Whispers and already being at 42K in total! That is such great progress so far. Good luck adding even more words amidst all the packing, inmate-helping, and book-clubbing! ;)

LOL! My schedule is VERY full it seems. I think the next weekend I have NOTHING planned is...uh...the last weekend in February.

Yes, even John Green was surprised at how many people attend his signings. I'm not sure why he is...I mean, he signed 150,000 preorders. His book was on Amazon's bestsellers list before his editors had read the final draft. Even the New York Times did a story on him and his books after the big preorder rush. So ...yeah...he's kind of a big deal.

Wow...he really is popular! I can't believe I've never heard of him until your blog, haha.

And whoa, you're busy! Hopefully nothing will steal your free time that last February weekend. ;)

2000 words... You are an inspiration... My own wordcounts are still below where I want them, but at least getting back.

I'm an inspiration? Me? Uh...you actually have stuff published. You are a writing machine.

My wordcouts lately stink, though. And wordcounts are the way to get stuff published and not go nuts in the process!

I've been waiting for a Austin report. Nice. Looks like you had a grand time. It won't be as grand as MY book launch, but...you know. :-P

Of course you're helping those inmates, Tracy. It's what you do! I am so glad life seems to be settling for you, and in very good ways. It was a rough patch there, eh?

Well...uh...of course yours will be bigger. I mean, you've planned a convention for your book release. A convention. That dwarfs 1,100 people. :D

I'm glad things are calming down, too. But I'll be honest...I keep glancing over my shoulder looking for pieces of the sky.

Hooray for adding 2000 more words to your story! Hooray for being almost packed! Hooray for helping the inmates and making their lives better! Hooray for fun at the book signing! Hooray for wearing the Big Girl Panties and finishing the book!

Hooray for anything else I missed. :)

Have a wonderful weekend, Tracy.

I know. It was nuts...and very cool. John Green fans (Nerdfighters) are the best people.
