Hello, three-day weekend! I'm glad for the rest, such as it is since we continue to overbook ourselves. Work has been very busy for me since the layoffs a few weeks ago. I'm glad for the opportunities since I like to be busy, I hope it means increased job security for me, and it also represents the opportunity for me to become involved in more

Many new Crock-Pots run hot, even on low, due to litigious squeamishness about undercooked food or food being kept at too-low temperatures. It's a shame, because it defeats the purpose!

I usually start my Crock-Pot long enough before I have to leave that I can get it hot on low or high and then set it to warm before leaving. That's plenty hot enough, I've found, to fully cook a meal.

Did you already pick up your new Crock-Pot? If not, I suggest poking through online reviews to see which ones run particularly hot and which don't.

My current one which runs hot is pretty old. It's a hand-me-down.

I have not picked up the new one yet, but actually I picked it out from Amazon.com reviews, which were very favorable overall. Good advice, though!
