Austin Update

Apr 03, 2009 12:22

Hello Friends!

Sorry I have been uncharacteristically absent from blogging in recent times. As you can imagine, the move to Austin and related events have been fairly all-consuming over the past two weeks. My thanks to those of you who've reached out to stay in touch with me, and for everyone's patience as I have been out of touch.

Let me esplain... )

Awesome! I can't wait for pictures. I used to live in Austin, and I loved the suburbia of it all. I lived in the Lost Creek subdivision, which was lots of fun. :)

Cheers!

I did not know this piece of your character history. Was this in adulthood?

No kidding! It was in childhood, which is why I haven't said much about the move -- I don't know anything from an adult's perspective, and this was back in ... er ... from 1982-1986. I could still tell you where a great place to ride hunter/jumpers is, and I could tell you where I went to school, and that Chuy's is great food, but other than that? I'd have to ask my mom, or one of the People I Know down in Austin. :) I can do that, if you like? I have an adult PIK there who can be helpful if you have questions.

We had dinner at Chuy's last night as a matter of fact! :)

Don't you have cat allergies?

Your new place and neighborhood sounds lovely! I can't wait for pics!

Indeed. I am also allergic to every kind of plant imaginable, but I don't let that stop me from gardening. :)

I understand that Siberians (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siberian_(cat)) tend to cause fewer allergic reactions. It might be worth paying a little extra for a specific breed to cut down on the reactions.

Thanks for the link!

It'll be fine -- I've had cats before. I get used to having one around, especially if it's short-hair and if there's only one!

We'll no doubt just check out the Humane Society and adopt some random homeless kitty rather than like buy an expensive one with papers or something.

Sounds like you're sliding into a groove, and I can't wait to see your pretty new house!

By the way, have you ever had a chance to explore the music I sent you? More of a contemplative frame of mind, and you're in a very active place in life now. None the less, when it's time for some yoga or a bubble bath, I hope you'll try it out!

You know, I am glad you reminded me of this.

I couldn't get the CD to play on any of the CD players I have - either on my computer or in the car. I kept meaning to mention it to you, but as is not overly unusual for me, I also kept forgetting.

What format were the files in....?

Oh no! How sad!

It was recorded just as a music CD, not data. Must've just been a bum disc.

I'm so sad to hear it! I'll have to get around to burning another disc for you at some point.

What a bummer of a present! :(

My goodness, woman, how do you possibly make time for reading journals with all the massive, wonderful things going on in your own life right now! I know there are photos are there of recent adventures, and I gotta make time to catch up with them. :)

Stainless Steel is more likely Brished Aluminum, which will definitely not adhere to magnets.

However, sounds like you guys are settling in well. I'm glad you've got time to work out jobbage. I have no doubt you'll pick something up.
