This is so neat. I think I may need to read this book. I definitely want to think about my values now. I can easily name the top two, just have to think about the rest!
You'd love it.tracerooJanuary 2 2009, 16:17:46 UTC
I highly recommend this book to you and your husband. You guys would love it! Among its many benefits is that the book has really detailed advice on getting your files and financial papers in order. I thought I was organized prior to reading it -- and then when I did the exercises for the files, I realized I actually did not have a very good clue about where to find a lot of things.
You two would, I think, enjoy both the philosophical aspects of this book -- matching your values and plan of attack as a couple -- and the practical advice about the files, papers, and what to do next.

I started it last year, really enjoyed the first few chapters, and then things got derailed. One of the things on the list to do this year is go back to tackle this book.

I was thinking about you the other night with your Year of Completion, though I may misremember the exact name. I recall the theme. I was wondering what you'd dive into this year now that you've got your "sea legs" back!
I'll have to check out that book as my husband and I are getting our finances together. Becoming a full time student really made a mess of things.
Funny you should say about moving. I was shocked to find out the number of my classmates who have serious significant others that didn't move with them. For my husband and I, it wasn't even an issue. As you said it was "Duh".
For individual reading, there are some other books I might recommend on personal finance if you're interested. If this is something that you and your husband specifically want to do together, I just can't recommend this book highly enough. It'll be the best $11 you ever spend.
I replied at first from email where I could not see your icon. You are absolutely radiant in your wedding photo. What perfect choices for your hair and jewels! And you can see your happiness shining from your eyes. :)
