I watched Gospel Hill on dvd. I expected Taylor Kitsch to be pretty good, but he basically steals the show from such big names as Danny Glover, Angela Bassett and Julia Stiles… and even Samuel L. Spoilers here...
So many hanging plot elements... like why did his dad never discuss his illness w/his sons? where did Joel actually live - the house he inherited? and why him and not Carl, or is it assumed that Carl got the bad genes and Joel the good, from her? Why would Rosie, being a person of morals, just dump Joel because of what other people thought, even tho she really liked him? Why didn't the sons just move away from Julia to avoid their dad's baggage?

But yeah, TK's progression as an actor has been really amazing. He's on a rocket ship to the moon.

You summed it up perfectly. Taylor was awesome. Truly this boy has such a talent that shines in every role he takes.

and I'm just wondering if this might've gotten picked up if it was released after Wolverine, assuming Taylor's going to be awesome in that as well... who knows, maybe it will be after he becomes a household name.

I'm a little late to the party but am a huge Taylor fan and have just managed to find this movie on YouTube, albeit a really bad quality one and with a Russian translation going over it all the time FFS! Sadly the movie isn't available in the UK at all but I was at least able to witness the hotness and cuteness that was a beautiful Taylor Kitsch playing Joel. Just awesome... And the way he delivers that kiss was just, like, oh.....fuck
