What's the most expensive gift you've ever received? Who gave it to you, and under what circumstances?

What's the best gift you've ever received? What were the circumstances there?

My grandma gave me matching diamond necklace + earrings for my 16th birthday. It was really strange, but not unwelcome. :D

I got my laptop as a graduation gift, and it's the best gift EVAR.

Oh, wait, was I supposed to say that god giving me life was the best gift?

A sapphire ring set in platinum. A few thousand dollars. My father on my 18th birthday.

Probably that. Or a tree house.

a new furnace from the inlaws - our house is an older one, and the furnace was almost as old and on its last legs. We were newly married, and my FIL could get an excellent deal on one for us, so that's what they gave us for Christmas - it was AWESOME!

well, besides my kids, I'll say the mother-child pendant my husband gave me after our daughter was born - it took me by surprise and it was very tasteful, so I was both touched and proud that he did that for me.
The furnace was close to the best though too. ;p
