you don't need to call every day and see someone every month to maintain an old friendship. My best and oldest friend, we met in jr high, and got to hang out for 4 years before she moved back to Texas. We rarely talk, and only see each other every 5 years at best. But when I went down to visit we picked up our friendship as if there wasn't any down time :)

I concur with tango, resume contact, if you can visit sometime after the wedding and go grab some coffee.

sometimes friendships can pick up like they left off. I would def reach back out to him- if anything, just for a quick catch up. I have gone years without talking to people, only to run into them and we end up hanging out or at least talking again on a reg basis.
