Wall Street

It was a few days ago now, and I forget how the conversation started. But it continued like this...

T: Why would I want to buy something just because it's new?
W: ...
T: You're giving me that look again, the one that says I failed Capitalism 101.
W: Yes, I am. But that's alright, beloved. So did Wall Street.

laughter, day to day

A colleague asked if I shed a tear for wall street when the USA decided not to bail it out.

I said no.

Then we both laughed at the rich people losing a gambling bet and saying "but how could this happen?" Um, 'cause in gambling, everyone loses eventually?

Yeah. I was a bit surprised at first when the government refused the bail-out, but the more I think about it, the more I like it. It'd be interesting to see a breakdown of who loses what - and to what degree the mom-and-pop-in-the-trailer-park demographic is affected.
