Well I haven't done jury duty (not allowed) but my mum has, she said it was a lot of waiting around and sometimes the case is interesting most are really boring...
I was on one jury, exempted from one (I knew the defendant), and one where I was on, but once the defendant saw how pissed we all looked hearing that the trial would take up all of Christmas break, he pled guilty and bailed on us.
Jury service is boring. I've heard murder cases can be fun, but most of it's a lot of lawyers mumbling to the judge in a sidebar (at least mine was) and then giving The Most Boring Speeches Ever. Like...droning on and on. Forever. And when they tried to be funny? *WINCE*
They pay crap but they do buy you lunch on days when you're sequestered. (Yes, I work for free eats.)
