So, on that note, I do this thing where I deprive my body of water [or drinks in general]. It's not that I'm doing it on purpose. Drinking, in general, just seems so unnecessary until I'm parched. I only drink a glass of milk or water with a meal [and I usually eat about one meal per day]. The rest of the time, I basically drink nothing, but ( Read more... )

You should drink water throughout the day as well as eat more than one meal. When you only eat one meal for a twenty-four hour period, your body begins to store more fat because it knows that it may be twenty-four hours or longer until it is fed again. It's best to have either three decent-sized meals and a snack (healthy, of course) evenly spread out through the day or six small-sized meal evenly spread out through the day. This ensures that your body gets all of the nutrients it needs as well as letting it know that there is no reason to store large amounts of fat because you are eating enough food over the course of a day. There's no way you are getting all of your nutrients at one meal unless you are gorging yourself, which is not good. (This isn't meant to be a "You're such an idiot" type of thing, but a "I know this to be true and want you to be healthy and I know how hard you are working to lose weight and I want you to still be healthy because I'm a concerned friend" type of thing ( ... )

Do you have a freezer? I keep mine stocked with lean cuisines and stuff as well as having some lettuce and things for salad in the fridge. That way, even if I can't make it to the dining hall, I've still got some food. Just a suggestion.

adding onto that, your metabolism slows down a whole lot when you're dehydrated. and the moment you realize you're just a little bit thirsty, your body is already way dehydrated. you said you see a nutritionist so you probably know this, but just thought i'd add my two cents.
