I love the queen, too! She and Heyok were my favorite parts.
Aw, it's not a culture thing! Well... the book reference, maybe, but the rest of it's all pop culture and word play. And I'll be the first to admit that the references are VERY subtle. I'll actually be surprised if anyone catches it.
You're already wearing it. It's the Cape of IMAGINATION! (waits for the expected applause) Anyway... I did! It should be there... I can see it. Maybe that's your superpower? *Intense movie trailer voice* One blogger... One unnatural ability... To see the unseen... But not the visible... o_O
Oh. My. God. I not only have a Cape of Imagination, but I get a REALLY useless super power AND a movie trailer? Hell to the yeah!
The only thing to make this cooler is if James Cameron is directing and Matt Damon is playing me. He'll have to get very fat, grow some breasts and shrink severla inches... but it could work.
Okay, seriously now... I'm gonna go stalk your work.
And congratulations on getting the OTHER film reference for this piece! *sighs* That movie is so good.
Hahaha! Thank you! It was a toss up whether the dragon was gonna kill itself or get bored to death. I figured the dragon would probably eat Heyok before offing itself, so boredom became the COD.
Hah, okay, I'm going to be one of your brigits_flame editors this week, but I'm not actually going to get to your piece tonight. Sorry! Loads of school work yet to do first. :D
I did notice, when glancing through just the first few paragraphs a little word omission that I wasn't sure I'd remember when doing up the edits later, so I thought I'd point it out now!
No amount of jewels, fine clothing, or exquisite food was enough to her from laying into him with her barb-like tongue.
I think you intended a "keep" following the "to" there?
Oh, jolly good! Nice to meet you and like I've told other editors in the past... take your time. The piece isn't going anywhere, so get to it when you can.
Ah. Yes. That should definitely NOT read like that. I'll be the first to admit I did a reeeeeally half-assed job of editing my own stuff this week. You're probably gonna have a field day with this one.
