Ψiioniic had never been a sound sleeper - the voices of the doomed ringing in his mutant brain had kept him up long past dawn more nights than not. Add to that sweeps of living in hiding and on the run from the Imperial Army, plus the difficulty in sleeping without sopor on these strange 'beds, and he was prone to wake up at the slightest noise around him.

Normally he simply went right back to sleep again, and he nearly did this time too. He opened his eyes enough to register the presence of his moirail, then closed them again.

Then they flew open as he remembered that his vision wasn't reliable anymore. He might be loooking at some point in the future when Signless would be standing there, and all the while a total stranger - or the damned drones that had taken him to be experimented on - might be looming over him. "SS? Ith that you?"

Suzaku chose the best time to walk through the door. Usually he was going to bed as his roomates woke up and today he was a little early, he was pale and trembling, his eyes wide.

Corpses, they were everwhere, blood, the room stank of it, blood and corpses and screams for help. There was not a moment of clarity, Suzaku no longer knew what was real and what was not. It all felt real, as far as he knew it was real. Corpses and blood and screaming this is what the world had become.

He saw Psiioniic. More a monster now than anything, a monster who would not hesitate to harm them. Signless was there, with weapons, it was a good idea. Kill him, kill their roomate before he could kill them first.

He moved towards them eyes dark.

Signless paused. There was no need to be cruel - he hated cruelty, anyway, and had never culled anyone before. It wasn't like there was anyone of lower blood than he for him to cull anyway, even if he were the culling type.

But this thing that Psiioniic had become could be considered that way. It probably wasn't even Psiioniic at all. He had to cull it, or his moirail would never have peace.

"It's me," he said, forcing his voice to calm. "Go back to sleep, Psi."

He glanced at Suzaku suspiciously. Was he going to try to stop him? He had been acting erratically, too, and it made him paranoid.

Signless might have sounded calm on the surface, but Ψiioniic had known him long enough to hear the note of tension beneath. It was especially worrying when he realized that the Signless he could see was standing there holding his sickles, like he was getting ready for a fight.

Were they under attack? Or maybe the rebel group was attacking the tower? Either way he could imagine Signless would want to keep him out of it, helpless as he was at the moment. That didn't mean he didn't at least want to know.

"Why are you armed? Ith everything okay?" he asked, pushing himself up further. There was no way he was going to get back to sleep now.
