[Where do you go if you need to find a state alchemist in a pinch? Well, your best bet would be the library and that just happens to be where Ed is when the twins make their way through. He has a small stack of books tucked under his right arm and is doing a terrible job of paying attention to his surroundings thanks to the open book in his left hand that he's skimming through as he waslks to a table.]

[Abel is thoroughly convinced that this is all an elaborate virtual simulation -- and that the first person he comes across in it is just an AI programmed by its creators. (post-apocalyptic world; please. this was just ridiculous AND unoriginal. it's almost insulting, really, to subject him to this kind of crap.)

thus, as he's passing by the door, he halts... spotting Ed engrossed in his obviously pre-programmed task. having the appearance of a kid doesn't stop the Commander (who doesn't look much older than eighteen himself) from heading in his direction with clear intent in his eyes.

...and it isn't exactly the intention to sit down and have a tea party. he looks tensed in that way that comes right before someone throws a punch at your face.]

Get up.

[and THAT was rather demanding, wasn't it? he doesn't have much in the way of manners at all. >:]

[Cain might not have as much compassion for virtual simulated people as real ones, but he still wouldn't want them hurt if necessary. They were too life-like, and... it just felt wrong.

Following his brother hurriedly, he laid a hand on his shoulder to try and instil some restraint into him.]

Would you mind talking to us for a moment, please?

[Ed doesn't have much in the way of manners either. He looks up from his book with a heavy frown and definitely does not look scared of you at all. ]

Tch. Why the hell should I?

[ The cathedral is where Spain stays, and it's where the twins will find her curled up on one of the pews nearer to the back where the hallways are, reading her Bible. ]

[Abel may not be one for faith -- but it was something that Lilith had held in high esteem. thus, when he spots the figure upon the pew with Bible in hand, something halts his footsteps, and quickly, at that.

a woman. the sight is familiar, and he hesitates just perceptibly... before the mild surprise at finding a cathedral in this place is replaced, instead, with irritation. of course, they'd make a mockery of this, too. of the things Lilith and Seth prized...]

You. [he has no respect for this place of worship, it seems -- calling outright to the woman within it as heavy footfalls announce his approach. he's pointing at her, expression one of cold displeasure.]

Get me out of here, or I'll kill every one of your worthless AI's. I've had enough of this bullshit.

Abel!

[Cain had no more faith in God than his twin, but he believed in behaving with reverence around others' beliefs and places of worship. It might not be a real cathedral, but Lilith would still not be impressed at them barging in with no respect.]

I'm sorry, miss, he doesn't mean that. But we would like your help.

[ The cathedral's strange acoustics doesn't carry both their voices or the sounds of their steps, so Spain doesn't hear either of them until she gets up to leave the level. She stops and blinks when two very tall and similar looking boys block her way, head tilted slightly as she approaches them, having not heard what they said in the first place. ]

I'm sorry, but this place has a strange way of muting sounds and voices. [ She had to shout to get her voice across, even when she's less than a foot away from them. ] You must be new here.

When in doubt, Ankh would typically take to looking up information. However, there was not a single damn drop of anything useful about their situation to be found in the library or on the computers or anything like that, so he had to figure out an alternative.

He had sent the hawk can on patrol, but that wasn't much. And so for now, he was occupied on the fifth floor, with a popsicle in hand as he appeared to be watching the viewfinders for some sort of useful hint-- although in reality he had much more interest in the security station, but he doubted it would be a good thing if the people running the place knew that.

When Abel's feet carried him at last to the fifth floor... a sense of familiarity amongst the alien nature of this world came at last. Technology -- even a foreign one -- felt much more 'homely' than the other floors of this tower, and security consoles even more-so. It was Abel who was charged with running the security division overseeing the entire function and safety of the colony on Mars, after all ( ... )

Cain was content to let Abel take the lead when they came to a floor full of security equipment; while he was a more than competent programmer, this was his brother's area of expertise and he was willing to take a step back.

However, unlike Abel, he wasn't willing to push even the AI people out of the way to get to his goal. And when he sees someone already occupying the room, he gives them a polite smile. It was often the case that drones programmed to act as security personnel were more violent, more protective of their positions, and he would rather avoid that if he could.

"Excuse us."

Ankh was getting really bored of staring at a dead wasteland of nothing.

He let out a 'tch' of annoyance at this endeavor before he realized there were actually people in the room. Dealing with people didn't sound very pleasant either, but, what else was he going to do. So Ankh turned around and leaned against the consoles he had been viewing, taking a bite off the top of his popsicle and leveling both Cain and Abel with a look.

"What do you want?"

Suzaku was near the pool, his job was cleaning it and he was not enjoying it. He looked up at the twins and blinked at the look on the silver haired boy. He nodded politely at them and then looked back at the water, contemplating his next stage of cleaning.

Abel's interest in this massive room upon finding its existence is short lived... but the lone occupant cleaning the pool with a collar around his neck provided more of a distraction.

It was unlikely that this one would have anything of use, but he's leaving no stone unturned -- footsteps taking him closer to the stranger he fully believes is an A.I. programmed in a virtual simulation training scenario.

"Give me the mission objective." No, that isn't a request.

A pool?

Their training simulations had spanned all sorts of terrain before, of course, but this one was certainly one of the most bizarre. It had a very eclectic feel, and it just added to the unease Cain was feeling.

"Abel, be gentle."

Suzaku blinked when the man demanded a mission objective from him. He stood up, the soldier in him automatically reacting to the tone of voice. "There is a mission objective sir?" He asked politely, because this is the first he had heard of it. He looked at the other man but then concentrated back on the one who had spoken to him.

There was certainly something weird in a certain corner of the library- what seemed to be a tipped-over, empty bookshelf at an angle against a wall, with a large blanket covering the sole entrance. From within, someone mumbling aloud could sort of be heard.

Seemed someone was being a wee bit ridiculous about seclusion.

...What in the name of...

Abel has taken up position beyond this little bubble of... seclusion, crouching down outside the blanket draped over the opening in this make-shift... tent. Mumbling...?

This was definitely an oddity in the otherwise quiet and mostly unoccupied library, and naturally required investigation -- thus, the silver-haired man is reaching forward to tug the blanket away and peer within. What have we here...?

Cain was equally as intrigued as Abel by this odd structure in the corner of the library, as well as wary what it might contain. Points of anomaly in a simulation usually marked a battle or challenge of some sort, and they were at the tactical disadvantage by dismantling whatever was keeping the thing inside hidden.

Laying his hand on his brother's forearm, he squeezed slightly in a gesture to be careful as he peered inside, prepared to yank him backwards if anything dangerous seemed to be within.

Getting closer, the mumbling almost sounded like someone reading quietly to themselves, but upon pulling the blanket back-

"Huh?!"

The blonde inside reeled away from the tent's entrance, smacking his back against the wall and holding Kingdom Key out to protect himself. The book was splayed awkwardly across his knee, and he looked pretty shaken and worn out, especially the deep bags under his eyes.

"Wh-who are you?"

Most people didn't bother his little library corner, so if anything, they had to be new, or just nosy.
