[Francis was coming back from a rousing run in the forest, all thanks to a rabbit that had decided he looked fun to nibble on. Easy to suffice, he looked a little tighter around the lips than usual. He'd obviously gotten away unscathed, luck on his side, but he'd forgotten his lighter in his room and he desperately needed a smoke.

Now, he didn't mind walking, but his room was toward the back of the first floor of dormitories near the staircase. He rarely saw the thing in use and reasoned that the Tower simply hadn't snatched enough to fill it as they'd done the first. However, when he saw a cloaked figure meandering down...

Suffice to say he was a bit shocked, exclaiming in hushed French:] My God. Your hair!

[Snaps out of it, because there's more than the shock of red hair deterring the boy from appearing like a wholesome child. Francis thought he looked like a literal matchstick, actually. Back to English (lazy mun is lazy) now, offered a subtle smile] Hello there. New, I take it? [He looked kind of agitated, his new matchstick ( ... )

[Axel doesn't recognise the language Francis speaks in at first, but it doesn't bother him. If this guy can't help him, he'd just have to keep moving.

However, the moment he swaps to english, Axel pauses and turns, and offers what is possibly a slightly intimidating lack of response to Francis' smile. Ignoring the question, he instead skips straight to the point. Only kind of agitated, huh?]

Where's the exit to this place?

[There's an exit, right?]

[Getting a better look at the boy--slightly intimidating? Is that what that was? 'kay!--He can't help but think he looks like one of England's children back in the wild days of punk. Looking down he was surprised to not see platforms.

Undeterred, Francis snorted and shook his head.]

Mm, I do not know. It's difficult to leave for good. [head tilt]

Not without dying and even that's not a cure-all. Oh, a few have been released to the wreckage of their homes but they come back in shambles.

[...Evidently not. Axel's not sure if he likes this guy, or is annoyed by him. Francis is certainly helpful enough though, so he lets up a little on the whole Mr Frowny Face thing. Can't hurt to uncross his arms, right?]

Doesn't dying kind of defeat the purpose?

[Did someone ask for brains?

In the hallways, Axel would find that there were several computer terminals scattered throughout. Upon one of them, he could find a girl.

She was casually typing away, one elbow propped against the table and cupping her cheek, a casual hum escaping her lips.]

[Brains are definitely preferable.

Axel's willing to try and tug information out of anyone he can, honestly- so upon spotting Rose, he heads over and taps her on the shoulder, forcing a small smirk onto his face. Best not to scare off the little girl who may or may not be able to help.]

Hey, think you could give a guy a hand?

[She turns in her seat to look at the older man, a slight quirk of the brow shortly following.]

You're new here, I'm surmising?

[She turns back to the computer and opens up a page, scooting aside so Axel has a clear view.]

This will help answer your initial questions.

[It wasn't as though the initial letter he'd read hadn't been off-putting to Axel, but the kidnapping theory hadn't quite wormed it's way into his head yet. Now that it was there, it seemed much more of a likely explanation than anything else- but that wasn't the only thing sitting on his mind now, of course.

Different timepoints? Murderous ovens and freezers? Oatmeal or doom? This place didn't sound cool. Not. At. All.

Eyes narrowing, Axel rereads a few points as he drags one finger down the screen- hopefully Rose doesn't mind fingerprints too much- and questions her.]

So then, what's the situation with escapees? Numbers, results?

[And suddenly theseriousface pops out. Behold.]

Down b good ol' dorm room 1-16 was what might be a sight for sore eyes. But, the blonde seemed to be intensely staring at the room door for whatever reason, hand on the knob but hesitating completely. Every time he went in his room, he had to wax paranoid about if Eiji was going to be on the other side. Which made him feel silly...this situation was dragging on far too long, in his opinion. His reactions were usually fight, not flight, but something about the tower just put him ill at ease.

A cursory glance down either end of the hallway apparently did nothing for his already-shot nerves. Rox's jaw went slack, eyes wide when he spotted that goddamn cloak, flinging the door open wide and rushing in the room. The slam of the door closing echoed through the hall, and he pressed his back against the door, as if it'd actually help him keep from having to deal with this. First that Naminé girl, now this?

Maybe the cloaked guy hadn't heard or seen him at all. Futile hope, but a last-ditch effort to keep from a total freakout.

Ironically enough, it's Roxas' rushed movements that catch Axel's eye- and the flash of blonde, along with the kid's familiar figure overall, was enough to have him picking up his slow-moving pace until he was practically dashing down the hall, a slammed door or no.

"Roxas! Open up!" Axel gives the thing a couple of sharp knocks, not quite desperate enough to tear the door open just yet. If he couldn't find a way out of here, it wasn't like Roxas would be able to.

Well. If it was Roxas. It looked like him, but- how was that even possible? And why was he running? Did this mean that even if he'd somehow he'd been seperated from Sora, he still didn't have all his memories back?

A few more knocks, even firmer this time. "Come on, Roxas!" He's not going anywhere.

Damnit. Damnit, damnit, damnit, damnit, damnit. ...damnit.

At the very least his room seemed to be empty, or there would be an even worse scenario he'd be facing. If that was possible. He kept his back braced against the door, as if he was waiting for the guy to try and fight the door open any second. Why did he feel so amped up with this guy?

"Go away!" It didn't sound as commanding as he would have liked, and Roxas puffed a loud breath of air, trying again. "I don't know you!"

But that familiar twisting in his guts...Naminé had said he might be missing some memories. "Or, I...don't think I do." He relaxed against the door, turning around and opening it a crack to peer out at the redhead. He was more than ready to slam it shut, and looked just about as tense as someone can when viewed through a cracked door.

"You're...Axel, right?"

...sorry about that, I'll ask Bert in the mailroom. burnamotherdown September 4 2011, 09:21:01 UTC
Axel's been through this before, he knows the routine. He yells, it doesn't help Roxas remember him, nobody gets a happy ending wah wah wah. He doesn't want things to go that way again. So as long as Roxas is here... maybe he should try another approach.

Stepping back from the door a little, he tries his best to relax.

"That's right. Glad you remember that, at least." Okay, that might have been a little bitter sounding.

"Look, you can open the door. I'm not out to cut your throat, Roxas."

Naminé had spent a large chunk of her time going all the way downstairs to the dining hall and aaaall of the way back up. By that point, her legs were burning; never in her life had she been forced or even able to participate in so much physical activity. Still, she made no complaint, internal or otherwise, for, in all honesty, it was actually rather exhilerating to finally be able to to stretch her legs, and to walk out the door without anyone there to pull her back, or to tell her she couldn't do as she pleased. So by the time she reached the hallway off of which her room was situated, she was moving a bit more slowly than usual.

That was probably why it took her until she'd reached her door and already had her hand on the knob, about to turn, when she saw a black shape out of the corner of her eye. Instantly she froze, every muscle tight and on edge. No. No. No, no, she couldn't assume, she had to look, had to make sure. Slowly, wide-eyed, she turned to see... Axel?

Nothing quite like a healthy dose of shock and happenstance to make a guy feel welcome.

Axel tries to quickly brush off the surprise of spotting Namine in the hall, and succeeds pretty decently. A somewhat pleasantly surprised smile works it's way across his face- but inside? He's already got a million questions.

"Well well well. Naminé. Another familiar face already- aren't I a lucky guy?"

The blonde girl slowly released her hold on the doorknob. Axel was definitely one of the better faces to see when it came to members of the Organization. He'd been pretty good to her, and that smile was marginally comforting... but she was well aware of his previous manipulations. She was also well aware that she owed him her trust, and, despite the fact that she'd never been totally comfortable around him, she actually rather liked him. He was good to his friends, after all, in his own way. It was just a matter of who that applied to.

What was startling, though, was the fact that he was there at all. She knew he'd died back there, saving Sora, before any of the business with the (supposed) destruction of the world(s). The fact that he'd said 'another familiar face' not lost on her, but that was something for later. "Axel...!" It wasn't that she wasn't happy to see him alive, but her brow knit. "How did you--?" Get here. Probably the same way she did, so the question instead meant 'how did you not die before'. Sure, ( ... )

Ven was tired. Which was weird because he was pretty sure he had been sleeping normally. The point was, he was yawning, and walking around the dorm hallways with his hands in his pockets, looking a bit worse for wear and not his usually derpy happy self. Which wasn't to say he was sad he was just, well. Kind of tired.

Not tired enough to not notice the blazing red head of hair down the hallway. It stood out pretty well. But apparently tired enough to not recognize who it was at first glance. It didn't help that it had been oh, about ten years. "Whoah. Cool hair." Your brains are in another skull, sadly.

Axel barely takes notice of Ven, too distracted by his search to stop and actually get a good look at the kid- foolish, really, when he was looking for help. It's with the tinest tinge of annoyance in voice that Axel half turns to acknowledge him.

No, that was crazy talk. He'd already seen Roxas- and besides, Axel kind of just felt like this wasn't him. Something wasn't quite right. So then, what the heck?

A tiny part of his brain is working fruitlessly to try and tell Axel that there's reason behind the apparent madnes- but it's pretty hopeless. Not seeing a person for ten years will do that.

"...Hey, kid. Who are you?" Just, yanno. Just wondering. A lot.
