But I was a huge fan back in the day, and this story transported me back to 25 years ago, when an actor could say something like, it's not a cop show, it's a love story.

My God, what a lovely story. You are *such* a good writer.

It's such a natural story, nothing forced about it, and the way things progress slowly seems completely uncontrived. None of the usual distracting cliches. Just perfect.

(And I usually hate first-time stories!)
