building a wardrobe.

So, besides sewing my own dresses, I'm also (finally) starting to build my lolita wardrobe. I think part of the difficulty of having a good wardrobe is the fact that I wouldn't have been able to fit in any dresses back then. When I first got into the fashion, the only option for plus-sized lolitas were having things commissioned or sewing something yourself. I went with the latter route.

Nowadays, there's many, many lolita indie brands that cater to larger lolis and it seems like 50& of the releases can be tailor made. I love that! And while I may be able to sew a great dress, I can't exactly make the prints myself. Believe me, If I could...I would!

Haenuli - Angel of Music OP
My FIRST ever, no-shit, real lolita dress! Well, real in the sense that I actually shelled out some money to buy it. =^.^=; I love how dramatic this dress is! My favorite would have to be all that gold trim and the Phantom of The Opera-themed print. I'm not usually a fan of OP's, so I might eventually turn this into a JSK. WHA--?! YES, I am not afraid to cut up my dresses, lol!

Souffle Song - Four Season Goddess Hi-Rise Skirt
My second purchase and currently waiting on its arrival. The Mucha print reminds me of my sister...she loves that artist. This is more of a "I wonder if hi-rise skirts look good on me?" kind of purchase. I got this through Glitzy Wonderland and settled on a black colorway. What can I say? Black's my go-to color for everything. :)

Souffle Song/Neverland - Holy Cross Cross Chain JSK
This one is my latest purchase! It's a religious-themed JSK from Souffle Song/Neverland that I ordered in the red colorway through My Lolita Dress. I adore religious-themes stuff and this one if the prettiest and most unique one that I've come across. Usually the print is on the bottom of the skirt. I like that they have it up high...making the skirt look scalloped. I was torn between buying this one or the V-shaped waist version. I might get both in the future, actually. If/when I get the V-shaped version, it'll be in blue or black.

Cutie Creator - Golden Age Feather Rose Hair Comb
I also picked up a few pieces from Cutie Creator via Ebay. These are lovely pieces and very well constructed. I got these in both black and red. I'm currently on a gold schtick so the little gold here and there really makes these one of my favorite headpieces to date. I'm debating if I should get this in blue too... I've also ordered Cutie Creator's Christmas Eve Floral Angel KC. I'm slowly realizing that flowers in my hair look waaaay better than big huge bows. Also, crowns and regular sized hats are also very nice.

I've got a bunch of other things that I want to get, but I'm picky with what I want to actually buy. I'm thinking of getting Souffle Song's Clock Fairy JSK (in red, when it comes out) or the Midnight Theater Bead Chain JSK (in either red or black). I was going to get something from Haenuli again, but I'm not a fan of the colors of their current Starlight of Serenity line. I might have to wait later for the darker colors that's usually around during winter or autumn. *sigh* I've also been keeping an eye out for a steampunk-ish dress too. One dream dress I covet for steampunk is Rose Cat's Haze of Dust JSK and I am so sad I found out about it a month after the reServation date. SO. SAD. I guess I'll still keep an eye out...
