Couple of potatoes, an onion? Don't throw them away, make Kartoffelpuffer for a quick weekend brunch. Great with apple sauce.

Is it possible to make a soup with the potatoes and onion and then freeze it? Or make potato pancakes and freeze them? Assuming of course you have the time.

Yes yes yes :o) I like options! Plus, it's good to have stuff in the freezer for when we get back and don't feel like cooking.

Thank you. Realised we had nothing in, so stopped at shop for ingredients and used

lightly smoked salmon fillets, 1/2 fat creme fraiche and peas stirred through fusilli tricolore

as inspiration. Was yummy :o)

That lightly smoked salmon is -divine-... ended up without waiting for pasta as we only just got back from Archway, faaaaar too hungry to wait for anything other than 5 minutes for fishie in the microwave.
