It would have been a fairly simple matter to not write a letter. We can often re-establish ourselves through simple action as opposed to words but that hasn’t been my style this year as I have become more open and connected. In other words: Hi! Things are great, I'm working on new stuff, this year's been (mostly) rad, and no, the band's not getting back together. :)

I only get glimpses of the responses he gets on twitter, I shudder to think any one person has to deal with them all. I'm sure he's got some fairly formidable coping mechanisms in place, though.

I wonder what the "bands/camps/sides" he's referring to are. There's those rumors about him and Frank not speaking, that might be it? Or maybe just a general "Gerard's work now is cool/Gerard should go back to doing MCR-type things" debate.

Oh for crying out loud. I really want to take some of these people and shake them. They don't need twitter to talk to each other--they've got home numbers and email addresses and mutual friends and, in at least one case, a mother!

Ugh. This is why I should never be a rock star. Gerard's handling all this way better than I would.

[pets your brainweasels] It's okay, bbs. Gerard just knows how to keep people who don't want to be as exposed as he does out of the limelight. That's what a good front man does, takes the hits for the rest of the band.

Although, if Gerard wanted to get a beta for his letters, that would be okay too. I had to read this five times to figure out what he was saying, bless him. :)
