ipod help?

So ive been trying to update my ipod however itunes doesnt even know its connected? on the ipod screen it says its being updates, however nothings happening? has this happened to anyone, and if so how do you fix it?

It happened to me and all I needed to do was download a newer version of itunes. I Hope that's all it is for yours.

my friend told me a few days ago that his itunes wasn't working for him either. i don't know if he fixed it or not yet, though. but if i find out, i'll let you know.
