stunning work! I was worried we lost you. These are seriously beautiful. I especially love the fabric and trim combo of the second one. Be sure to join the corsetry guild on etsy! :)
Thanks, my dear! Nope, you haven't lost me. I'm like Batman.. I uh.. no wait. Um.
I'm actually surprised by how many people are raving over the PVC one. I almost didn't photograph it because I am a bigger fan of the shaping on the grey one. Plus, PVC wrinkles terribly, no matter HOW much you interface it, and is so awful to shoot.
PVC is always like that. Do you use a teflon foot when you sew it? What did you interface it with? I hate working with pvc. What I love about yours is how you combined a very fetishy material with a very period style and ultra feminine, vintage-looking lace. It's a pretty combination.
Thanks. I'm not a fan of fetish, so it was a challenge to make PVC pretty. I have a teflon foot, but I still found I needed to use baby powder. I smelled like the stuff for days after, my roommates loved it. I interfaced it with the same quality interfacing I use on all my fabrics: heavy woven iron-on interfacing.
I think I just need to practise more before I get a hang of how it behaves, fabrics are like that. Nothing really teaches you more than practise.
Thank you! I'm obsessed with lace. I can smell a cheap lace trim a mile away. To me, lace is like good shoes; if you wear cheap, ugly shoes with a stellar outfit, it brings it down. Great shoes make any outfit look amazing.
I somehow fucked up with my filters ans so missed a lot of your entries :(
Anyway... I am not the greatest fan of vinyl, and despite this, I really like the vinyl/lace corset. It must be the contrast of the materials, especially since the lace seems ivory, it's quite sophisticated, actually. I wonder how it would look with leather or latex instead (wouldn't be able to shine the latex with the lace...). Maybe not better, curiously. Oh, patent? ahhh....
