"Don't even bother trying to unlock those doors," he said rather sternly, "They never come undone. Or at least if they do, they're booby-trapped."
Here, person #1 is commenting to person #2 (presumably the title role) that there is no point in attempting to unlock the doors because they never open, or they end up booby-trapped (as in "A situation that catches one off guard; a pitfall.")
"Bah!". The first one was stiff and even a few hard knocks wouldnt open it. The second required a hit, but when a cloud of deadly dust soon formed, he was quick to step away. The third was no better. Nor the fourth, or the fifth.
In this second line, person #2 expresses his disinterest in the opinions of person #1 on the subject of the unopening doors. He then goes on to attempt to open five doors and fails, some with undesirable results.
