To be honest with you Davie, I think when his character was first introduced in about October, you were watching Alan Partridge at the time, and for all I know, it could have subconciously been slightly based on him!

the people/creatures in the last paragraph reminds me oddly of those little race who rode on special dragonflies in His Dark Materials...they helped Lyra in the Land of the Dead bit! Not sure if anyone's read the book...?
