Miranda felt eyes on her constantly, and, while she would have reveled in it in Atlanta, in Mystic Falls, it felt positively claustrophobic.
Oh, this town.
Carol had been one of those girls; she wouldn’t even look at Miranda anymore.
I lovelovelove what you're doing with Carol in this. It's breaking my heart and making me loove her all at once.
“Yeah, but you’re also the only one whose face isn’t a prime example of what 125 years of inbreeding gets you.”
Bwahaha! Kelly <33
Miranda had no idea what to say to him, how to act normally after being told of something so epically twisted.
Just everything about her reaction. How do you even function in a relationship after that? I love the entire feel of this piece. Miranda coming to the town and feeling like an ancestor. And then, even at the end where she's married into the town forever, she still doesn't quite belong.
The degree to which I love Carol Lockwood cannot be quantified in words, especially after the past few episodes.
And I legitimately want to know: how did Miranda move past finding out her husband was from an epic line of vampire hunters? I can't imagine she was just like, "Cool beans," and high fived him.
I've always wondered how Miranda won the Miss Mystic pageant, since as Jenna's interactions with John always stress, the Sommers aren't founders.
Liz Forbes was the only person Miranda knew who could give you a helping hand while simultaneously punching you in the face.
I love your depiction of young Liz, and her relationship with Gray. I wish the show would give her a happy ending, but I'm not counting on it. Realistically, I just hope she lives through Season 3!
I love Liz so much, and I really want her to kick some ass, even if it is slightly misguided. If she doesn't make it through Season 3, I will be heartbroken.
I absolutely LOVED Miranda's part of this story, SO MUCH! Her friendship with Kelly, Richard being an ass, and Grayson stepping in as her escort for Miss Mystic (totally awesome btw to have shades of D/E!!!!)and Liz being so totally awesome in her tough love approach. You have such a rich backstory for these characters in this fic, and it's quickly becoming one of my favorites :)
From the moment we met Kelly, I was fascinated with her friendship with Miranda because how does someone who was apparently a huge part of the Founders Council end up best friends with Kelly Donovan? And I couldn't avoid the D/E comparison; that was without a doubt my favorite scene in the first season and I just needed to see it again.
