I figure Elena has to be headed for some kind of breakdown. After everything that's happened and now watching Jenna die in front of her, that's a lot for one person to take, especially a 17yo who also lost every parent she's ever had. If it gets glossed over, I'll be really pissed.

I also am not a fan of what they've been doing with Alaric recently either, but I'm holding out hope he'll get to return to his former awesomeness next season.

I don't know what it says about me, but when I assumed Alaric is going to become their guardian, my first thought was, "Oh, so now I don't even have to come up with contrived scenarios for why Elena would be at his apartment."

I abuse Stefan so horribly in fic, but I really do love him.

And I can't bear to give them an unhappy ending. Those two need any happiness they can get.

I never thought I'd be reading a fic about Alaric/Elena, but I'm so happy I gave this one a chance!

The more minutes that go by, the more I love how you wrote her. Elena broke down, and it wasn't pretty, and you didn't have her breakdown so that anyone could come to her rescue. It was completely about her, and I love that.

Just when I was thinking, "There's no way she's pregnant," Boom! She's pregnant. Lmao. I love the name you picked for the baby. It definitely sounds like something Elena would name him.

I liked Alaric in this too. I haven't been liking him at all lately, and I was actually hoping he'd be the one to kick the bucket instead of Jenna.

I actually laughed out loud when he drank himself to sleep. Don't know why. I'm glad that the relationship was never pretty, and neither of them ever said, "Jenna would've wanted this."

And can I just say that I was proud of Jer for figuring it out? Lol.

I always see Jeremy as a lot more perceptive than anyone gives him credit for, and I'd like to think if something was going on, he'd be the first to notice. And the idea that Jenna would've somehow wanted this to happen would have been completely ridiculous; Jenna would've castrated him and the angst of how wrong it was seemed right.

wonderfully written, to the point where this scenerio seemed so plausable!! I find the idea of Alaric/Elena incredibly intriguing and you definately did the two of them justice here =)

I particularly liked that you adressed the magnitude of Elena's grief (as well as Alarics) in a way that was so raw and I really hope the show doesn't hold back in that regard because with everything that's happened to her, something's gotta give *-)

I can't imagine Elena or Alaric being able to just bounce back from this; Alaric is now 0 and 2 for love interests and Elena is officially down 5 parents. If neither has a breakdown, I'll be prety upset.

And I love the idea of Alaric/Elena, even if I know they will never ever be together in canon.
