Elena is not used to being alone. She has always been surrounded by people who loved her, but everything is so different now. Damon is focused on finding Stefan, Jeremy and Bonnie are struggling with his newfound ghost whispering, Caroline and Tyler are wrapped up in their budding relationship, and Matt wants nothing to do with any of them. Elena is alone a lot now, which is how she ends up spending time with Elijah
