She wakes up in the hospital to find Jeremy and Alaric by her bedside. As she tries to move, she feels her body protest, and she groans as she sinks back into the hospital bed. The last thing she remembers is the car sliding upon black ice and then the crunch of the passenger's side against a tree.

Jeremy hugs her gingerly as Alaric fills in the blanks. Her car is totaled, she has three stitches to the head, and the hospital wants to keep her overnight for observation given the fact she lost consciousness for a few minutes.

Her friends file in, all wishing her well, and Elena suddenly has the strongest sense of deja vu. This has all happened before, but the last time her arm had been in a cast and she had just learned her parents were dead. As her friends gather around her bedside, it is all she can think of, and the room now feels too small, free of oxygen ( ... )

*sigh* Another amazing one-shot. One of these days, lady, you've got to write a multi-chapter fic! Please? Please please please? This was perfect and lovely and would make a great scene on the actual show; I'm contemplating becoming a billionaire, buying the CW, firing off the TVD writers, and hiring you in their place.

*raises hand* I agree with this comment! Pleaaase do a multi-chapter Elena/Elijah fic. I'd DIE of happiness. You always write them spot on, never OOC, perfectly imaginable. *sighs* It's lovely.

My TVD Big Bang story is Elijah/Elena, so that'll be coming. I have a few EE stories started; I just haven't finished them yet.

And I will gladly accept that job offer ;)
