It was Kira's first time to the bar - he'd heard a lot about it from reading the network. He'd always been too busy, but now there was a decent lull in his schedule and he wanted to get out, get some fresh air, meet new people.
He'd always been a night owl - and his profession just encouraged that; Kira slept during the greater part of the day usually. He also had dressed simply, as to not attract attention, dark shirt and trousers with a long coat over it all.
He paused on his way in - seeing the other man hovering at the entrance. "Are you going in?"
Alto blinked at the man who had just spoken to him and paused, stepping into the bar and to the side. He did make sure to keep his head lowered though. Staying in the background was not his usual style, but given that he had no idea if White Magnolia had publicized the new addition to their ranks, it was probably safer to keep attention away from himself.
"Sorry," he murmured. "Didn't mean to be in the way."
"Are you all right?" After all the recent disappearances, Kira felt like a veteran of Magnolia - and in that feeling, there came a deep concern for others in this city. How easily their lives could be manipulated, destroyed, by those in power.
Was this stranger always this nosy or was Alto just inspiring the best in him? He shook his head and took another step back. Who the hell could he trust in this city? Nobody. He knew no one and from what he had seen of it so far, he was probably better off that way.
Blaine had just finished knocking out his last opponent after a long game of cat and mouse. Sure, he liked the adrenaline of chasing someone down, especially when they thought they were the hunter, but there came a point when the darkness started to close in on him and he had to take the other man out or he'd start to lose it.
He saw a well dressed... person, staring into a bar and stopped a few feet behind them. Long blue hair in a pony tail. If it wasn't for the shoulders, he would have instantly thought 'tomboyish woman'. It still might be. He'd met his fair share of crossdressers... He let a smile spread over his face. "The place is better than most, if that's what you're trying to figure out."
Alto started and spun around, almost on the defensive immediately. From what he had heard of the place, one could not blame him for being careful. There was no such thing as being overly careful after all, trapped in a city where the currency was violence, in one manner or another.
"I was just looking," Alto replied, and flicked his ponytail over a shoulder, stepping to the side (he wouldn't want somebody to knock into him as they leave the bar). Hesitating for a moment, he added. "I'm new here, so I might as well check out the area."
It wasn't as if this stranger didn't already know he was new. This place looked like a rather small community after all.
There was another slight twitch of his lips as the other man jumped. The voice gave it away, though looking at him from the front, it really didn't clear up the other person's sex. Depending on what career the man had chose, that could be a good or bad thing.
"Yeah, you should check the place out. There aren't many places worth going to here." Blaine offered his hand. "I'm Blaine. Nice to meet you."
It wasn't like Alto to capitalize on his looks, especially not for something as vulgar as prostitution. But it would have been less like him to ruin another person's life simply to survive.
Taking Blaine's hand with his own (smooth, almost like a girl's, if not for the hint of callouses on his fingertips), Alto nodded. "I'm Alto."
