So thanks to some strange and as yet unexplained charges on my debit card by the hotel, as well as some poor purchasing decisions previously (read: adventureland) we're now very close to being out of money-I think we have about 5 bucks in change-, and of course the banks are all closed today.

wait .. you're out of money for the day, or for the entire trip? sending you money via paypal wouldn't help much if you need money now (you'd have to transfer to your bank account and blah blah .. it would take at least two days). hope you're both okay!

actually, I have a paypal debit card...I probably should have mentioned that in the post. Basicly, when the banks open for business tomorrow, we;ll be fine, but for today (which was going to be our big sight seeing/museum visiting day in minneapolis) we're sorta screwed.

on my last trip to tulsa i found out using your debit card for a hotel is bad news. they take out the money for the deposit and won't return it for up to a month afterwards. i'm guessing the hotel didn't mention this to you eh? bastards.
i would paypal you some green but we have very little lettuce to last us the rest of the week. :|

actually, they charged us the $40 deposit THREE TIMES, plus a mysterious $12 charge for something else. Next time, I'm paying in gold dubloons.

40$ three time? yeah, very weird. maybe they charge their deposit by the night? still strange. also some hotels charge you an extra fee for using a debit card instead of a credit card period. that might be the $12 fee.
