Mama calico and no-longer-baby tortie

One year ago I adopted Jubilee, a calico cat, and her kitten Katniss, a baby tortie. Katniss is all grown up now, but she still likes to cuddle with her mama.

So beautiful! And great that they get along so well.

I think being adopted together was good for them. One of the first things Katniss the Kitten did when she arrived was to climb up my Christmas tree, and her mother paced around the bottom of the tree and cried for me to rescue her baby. These days, Katniss is quite indepedent, but at the end of the day, she still likes to snuggle with her mama. Her mama still gives her a thorough wash every so often.
