Who: EVERYONE What: Open Mic Night has returned! Where: Torrent When: Wednesday evening Why: The record is having it's grand reopening and Bella's celebrating
Jamison sat in the middle of the room/ He was used to attention and he always got it one way or another. He was in a black t-srirt and blue jeans, his usual fair, with his beaten leather jacket slung over the back of his chair, despite the fact that it was too muggy for it.
He sipped on a bottle of water and watched the performers, and Mason had been right. This was definatly worth coming to. As he listened, he wondered if he would run into any number of people.
Charlotte was bored out of her mind today after she got off work. Brandon was out of town on business and she was left up to her own devices. She didn't have her car back yet and she didn't want to take the rental out too far for fear that something would happen. So she decided to head to Open Mic Night that she heard about.
She went inside the cafe and looked around, hoping for a familiar face of some sort. She then spotted Jamison Colt and a wicked smile appeared on her face. She walked up behind him, covering his eyes with her hands and leaned down to whisper in his ear, "Hint, you have my car and I want it back."
After having talked to Bella, Hayden decided to get up on the stage, and she grabbed a guitar and took a seat on one of the stools. She started playing the melody that she had been working out on her guitar just a few days before. She opened her mouth and started allowing the words to flow from her body. If anyone knew who she was, they’d get the gist of the song. It was for him… Once she finished with it, she stood up and started another song, this one much more up beat and she enjoyed it more.
Once she was finished, she went and took a seat at the bar and she ordered a beer and sat there drinking it. The rush was crazy, and now she was just needed to calm herself down.
Jamison listened to the girl, watching every move as the first song began to play. There was something about the words. Every word was his life. When she walked off stage, he followed her with his eyes, before finally getting the courage to go over to where she sat. "Hey, can I sit down?" he asked, his voice softer than usual.
Hayden had just gotten her beer, and taken a sip out of it, when she heard a voice behind her. She turned and looked at him and nodded her head. "Sure," she smiled at him. "Have a seat..." she paused and took another sip of her beer.
Jamison sat down, water in hand. "Uh, you were really great," he said. Was he really nervous? In front of a girl he'd just met? "The first song was... amazing."
Jordyn had decided to come out to open mic night, she was really feeling good about things and she wouldn’t let anyone ruin her mood. She was also happy because it was Wednesday, which meant the weekend was only like two days away and she knew she had another date with Brian this weekend. She walked into Torrent and took a seat at one of the booths, after having ordered herself a cup of coffee. She listened to everyone who had performed, and then waited anxiously for the next performer.
Halden was new to the society that Torrent was obviously bring in but he loved the vibe and when he saw the flyer for an Open Mic Night combined with deal of cheap, but good coffee with just a CD purchase had him sold.
When Halden's turn on stage began he set up his keyboard to the amp, and grabbed a mic so he could sing as well. "Hello, my name's Halden Montgomery," he began to preform his first cover. Hal said the name of the cover, "That was Ron Pope, A Drop in the Ocean," and introduced his next, "My next song is probably going to be more known it's Second chance, by Shinedown." Halden began to preform the song
When Halden finished he stood up and took a bow. Then he packed up took his stuff off stage and ordered himself an iced coffee with caramel squirts in it.
Hayden had been listening as Halden sang, and when he was finished she stood up and clapped for him. She loved these open mic things because she could hear a bunch of new artists. She walked over to him once he was finished, and then tapped him on the shoulder.
"Halden right?" she nodded, knowing she was right. "I thought your songs were amazing, great job!"
Halden smiled when at least 1 person stood and clapped as he had his keyboard in a bag over his shoulder she came up to him, "Yeah my name's Halden, and thank you. I'm sorry but I don't know yours."
YES! She thought as she stood there in front of the kid, someone who didn't know who she was. Honestly that was fine, she didn't mind it one bit. "Hayden," she grinned at him, and then pushed her hair behind her ear. "I liked the Shinedown cover," she admitted. "That's one of my favorites right now."
