Vanessa had been working in the music store area of Torrent all morning and was relieved to finally go on her break. Despite the fact that they were supposed to be in a recession, flocks of people continued coming into the store on the weekends, most looking for Brianna Taylor's album. People continuously asked her if it was as good as the reviews said, but she still hadn't gotten around to listening to it fully so she couldn't really comment.

When her break finally rolled around, she headed into the cafe and ordered a drink before heading over to a table amd began flipping through the latest issue of People, looking for anything that might catch her eye.

Taking a breather Tannar removed himself from his laptop, feeling practically glued to it. He needed a new cup of coffee, his had gone stale, moving towards the counter he happened to glance down at a girl with a magazine, his eyes went to a picture and he stopped.

Not bothering to introduce himself he leaned over and asked, "Can I see your magazine for a moment?"

Vanessa had been so caught up in the article she was reading that she didn't notice the boy behind her until he was practically in her space, "Um....sure?" She slid the magazine towards him, turning in her seat a little to watch him.

Plopping down in the chair beside her he dragged the magazine towards him but not before flashing her a very charming smile, he had yet to meet her but had seen her around Torrent, knowing she worked there.

"Sorry, I just realized I knew this person and that she fell off the face of the earth and now I'll probably know why." He had pointed to Amara's face that was next to Brianna's in a paprazzi photograph.

When Jackson walked in Torrent that day, the last person he expected to see was an old colleague. At first, he wasn't sure that was even him, but another look told him it was Tannar. They'd worked together for a popular gossip magazine before but now Tannar was out, and Jackson stayed. Honestly, he loved his job and didn't mind the whole 'invasion of privacy' thing. Hell, if someone wanted to live their life in the limelight, that wasn't his fault that people paid for pictures of them.

As soon as he saw his old friend, he smacked him on the back in greeting and held out a hand, to shake. "Hey, man! I didn't know you were even here! What have you been up to? Last I heard you quit the biz. Gone soft, huh? And I see you're working, too," Jackson pointed out, nodding to Tannar's pile of papers on the table. And the guy was obviously still chewing his pens to pieces. Nasty habit in Jackson's opinion. Who knew where those things had been?

Tannar had retrieved a new cup of coffee and had just settled down when someone came up, he was therefore surprised to see Jackson, popping up out of his seat he took his hand and smiled, his previous encounter with Vanessa forgotten completely.
"How you doing man? Still being a sneak?" He teased and then nodded, glancing down at his messy table, "I'm working for and coffee and music magazine now and actually thinking of writing a book." He confessed and then offered Jackson a seat, Tannar closed her laptop and set them on top of all the papers to make room on the table.

"Ha. Never," he answered as he took a seat at the table, camera bag, as always, in tow. He listened as Tannar explained what he was up to these days and was impressed that he was writing a book.

"No shit!" He said at the news, nodding his head approvingly and glancing at the menu for something without caffeine. "That's really cool. I hope the work's going alright then. Mine's the same, I guess. Work and more work, and babysitting my little brother, Seth. Still a fucking mess. Oh, and I went to LA last weekend to see if Taylor did anything interesting since making out with some British coke head guy. I swear, I got paid so big for that pic of the two of them and now I can't get a photo of her doing anything more interesting that standing around on the red carpet. I thought that chick was supposed to be socialite extraordinaire?"

"I've been meaning to call you to do some shots of this place for the mag, you wouldn't get the same great price but don't you want to do something artistic?" Tannar teased him with a boyish grin, he always made fun of him being a paparrazi guy.

Tannar shrugged about his Taylor comment, truthfully he didn't want to talk about it anymore, it just made him think of Amara and how she disappeared on him after he starting hoping for something real. "Taylor just may be in a rut of something." He reflected, knowing how it was to loose someone you're close to, he had an inkling that she had been really close to her previous boyfriend.

She'd been there all day. And he'd been there all day. And Ruby, well, she'd been watching him all day. From the corners of her eye, as he stared intently at his work, around the Torrent, and then back to his work, scribbling and scrawling on his note pad, typing and frowning at his computer.

Ruby was aware that he was a writer. He seemed, distracted. Perhaps he didn't want to be, but that's how he seemed. Was there a deadline looming, one that he feared he wouldn't meet? Or was it a simple case of writers block, that was causing him to stare daggers at the computer, making his fists clench with annoyance.

Chewing down on her lip and tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, she picked up the coffee she'd made and headed towards him. Slowly she weaved through the tables before gently placing it down next to him. "On the house." She offered quietly as an explanation. "Thought you could use a fresh cup."
