I've heard rumours of this spring thing. I'm not sure what it is though /snark.
Yesterday we got to a high of -8C with a windchill of -14C. Right now, it's -8C but feels like -15C and we have an expected high of 2C with windchills of -3C. We're supposed to get a mix of rain/snow this afternoon. While the temperature is supposed to get above freezing over the next 5 days, the windchills will make it feel like it's below zero and there'll be some scattered snow. Somebody needs to forward the memo to Mother Nature that it is officially spring in the western hemisphere.
We've had a particularly harsh winter this year. At one point, we were rocking temps of low -40C with the windchill. I do live in Canada, but that is highly unusual for southern Ontario where I live. About a week ago we had a snow storm that dumped 10cm on us. This time last year, we were wearing spring jackets in the morning and no jackets in the afternoon. Hell, we even had something like a 95% ice coverage of the great lakes and that's highly unusual (although the most was a 97% coverage way way back in the day).
Apparently this is the coldest winter for southern Ontario in 20 years and the third coldest since we began recording temps about 100 years ago. I am sooooo ready for spring to actually put in an appearance and actually stick around.

Mostly in the form of green stuff on the trees, but it's very pretty and fresh. Temperatures are still a lot of ups and downs
