I generally only buy one type of thing online and that's because it's the only way I can get my fix. I'm leery of buying clothes and shoes online because you can't try it out and shipping it back for exchange/return is more of a pain in the ass than I want to deal with. Last Xmas I bought the Hubby an mp3 player online but it was because it was the only way I could get him the one he wanted. Everything else was purchased from stores in our area ( ... )

I rarely buy clothes online or shoes because like you, I need to try them on. It's usually books, movies, music, that type of stuff. OH and we bought our last two computers online - not the new one because they won't ship over here, that one we actually bought at the Exchange.

OH cool!! That's a cool thing to collect. I bet they're gorgeous.

Bummer that your doll won't arrive in time for Christmas but at least you know he's coming. That's a good thing :D

thanks for sharing!

They're all characters from my novels and I think they're beautiful (although the Hubby calls them my "creepies" because they're so life like). This is the majority of my collection minus the 2 most recent additions. My tallest doll is 68cm (26.8") and my smallest is 21cm (8.3"). As you can see in the photo below, they can all stand unaided. And despite appearances, they are all boys (and have the danglie bits to prove it).

I prefer to shop online, but my husband likes to traipse around shops and be able to poke at whatever before he buys it. When a present arriving on time is in doubt I usually buy some small things so there is something to unwrap - we go overboard with the small presents anyway and some years the unwrapping takes up so much time on Christmas day that we are all sick and tired of it by bedtime.

I imagine Cuba was difficult to get things to. My husband took out a subscription to a US car magazine and it was posted from the States every month. He cancelled the subscription after the first year because he'd only got half the mags (even with a free extension from the mag). He got most of the rest over the next year as they were forwarded from some Carribbean island or other - we never could figure out how or why they headed south before heading east to the UK.

(Tried to post this hours ago and my internet link died - just realised it didn't get through then. Sigh.)

See I prefer to shop online for most things too, because I can't stand the crowds at the stores. Clothes I have to buy in person, but I usually shop for those when I know things aren't going to be busy because I like to take my time and not be pressured AND not be squashed in with a bunch of other people.

And yes, I think that's what we'll be doing as well, getting some small things - I know for a fact the hubby went shopping last night, he was very cagey about it on Skype LOL.

OH man, that stinks about the magazine subscription /o\, we've had mail misdelivered - my birthday card from my parents took over a month to get here because the military mail system sent it someplace else :( I"m just glad it finally got here LOL.

UGH I hate when the internet craps out :(

Thanks so much for commenting :D
