Hey toronto,

I'm on the lookout for a few things, and I'd appreciate any tips!

a) Back-support cushions for chairs. Let's just say that I inherited a wonky back from my mother's side and that it's acting up a little bit. I feel as if I haven't seen support cushions at either office-supply stores or pharmacies that I've looked through here. Any ideas ( Read more... )

Do you have a Shoppers Home Health Care near you? http://www.shoppersdrugmart.ca/english/home_health_care/index.html

You can find rice bran oil at health food stores.

Couldn't you make gnocchi with flour and instant mashed potatoes?

Aha! There's one on University Avenue that isn't too far. Perfect!

Have you seen it at any particular stores? I frequent a bunch of the ones along Bloor in the Bathurst area and haven't spotted it in ages.

I could if I weren't allergic to food-preservatives. But I appreciate the suggestion all the same!

Thanks so much!

Spotted a food dehydrator in Lee Valley Tools' gift catalogue, there's a location at King & Portland.

All the equipment you need to make gnocchi from scratch is:
- an oven
- a bowl
- a fork (alternative if you have one: potato masher)
- a knife

Your oven can also work as a food dehydrator -- just bake your fruit slowly on low heat. (For example http://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-dry-fruit-in-the-oven-92637 but I'm sure there are thousands of other examples out there.)
