This is quite stunning. I love the the way your words flow. There's a story here but you tell it so poetically that it has a lyrical quality to it. It pulls the reader in and does not let go.

I like how the past sections connect to the present and show the change in Sylar's thinking, the way his motivations alter, the way Mohinder goes from being someone he thinks he can walk away from to being everything.

I love the strangeness of this somewhat monogomous relationship on Sylar's part. Mohinder is unaware of him but part of Sylar's day, every day, is to see Mohinder. For all the ways Sylar can keep changing himself, taking more, he remains committed to Mohinder.

Thank you for such a thoughtful comment! It made my day. ♥

I see Sylar as someone with a strong need to justify his actions and avoid responsibility, so in this his motivations kind of change to fit that need. In the past he can't justify the connection he feels to Mohinder despite the tense and sporadic nature of their relationship so he tries to dismiss it. In the present he can't justify the loss he feels after destroying that connection, so he fixates on this way to see Mohinder regularly without all the baggage -- something unachievable before that destruction -- in order to convince himself that his actions were entirely beneficial to him.

Your fic is pretty much the embodiment of why I loved Mylar in the first place : madness, death, love, powers, illusions. And I don't quite know what else to say.
