i totally get that whole gracious-but grateful-ish thing.. i am the easiest person in the world to buy for- even michaelbosco knows it. HE even said "you like everything but only want like 4 things- lipsmackers, fancy chocolate, pajamas and stuff that smells" (candles, tarts, potpourri, etc ( ... )

i must admit that i always LOVE a good "i saw this and thought of you" gift bc it amuses me how i translate over into gifts....

sorry to go off on my rant there.... it's just something that was playing on my brain too

No, I agree completely. There is a difference between getting something cute from someone because thats how they think of you (ex: Rob got me these cute black cat pencil toppers and a "fairy bible" -- both awesome, neither on any kind of list). Its just my family is always "What stuff do you want?" and I email them a FOUR PAGE LIST and they just kinda still go off and do their own thing. What can you do with these people?

regift their stuff?
*lol*

i'm a "it's the thought that counts" kind of person- and i really dont measure a present by cost- so when the thought behind the present is merely, "well that cologne cost $65"- but it's something that smells like every bonifa at the mall? i'll pass thanks.

to this day- one of the best presents anyone has ever gotten me was those impulse item giant eagle hair extensions chuck and d gave me for my bday. i mean, what were they? $2? niggaplease! that's the stuff i'm talking about. i STILL wear those.
